I went with friends on Melbourne Cup day (07/11/17) I think there is a large staff turnover in the kitchen because sometimes the food is just ok, other times it's pretty awful. The Chef yesterday didn't season any of our meals so they were bland and tasteless; we were all fighting over the salt and pepper, trying to put some flavor into the meals. My Alantic salmon was dry and over cooked and no crispy skin. We all spent around $100 each throughout the day. Later we went into the bar where we joined some more friends. We saw an older well-groomed lady complain about a glass of wine. She said it was different to what she'd been drinking throughout the day. The young waitress was rude and intolerant and denied it was different despite the lady pointing out that the wine was bright yellow and the original was white. (She had BOTH glasses to show the staff the difference) Long story short; they didn't like her pointing this out, then the Managed appeared and it seems they then refused the older lady service, then later two young waitresses escorted the mature lady out of the venue. She was a well-spoken woman and wasn't loud or boisterous and didn't appear drunk to us, and I heard her say that she was "64 years of age, an ex-Publican and had never been tossed out of a Pub in her life" She was clearly humiliated and embarrassed and I felt sorry for her. We were uncomfortable watching this and wondered what happened to, "the customer is always right" and "respect your elders"....Anyway, that's it for me at the Eyre. Food isn't that great and is expensive. Next year we'll be going to a different venue on Cup Day.....

Very slow service in the bar, we finely got our drinks after 1/2 hrs we ordered them. Bar staff just kept serving other people. Never mind our order, finely started to make them after I asked for them. Not good!

Disappointing. Had the Roast Pork. Meat was overcooked and dry, Potatoes undercooked, No Other Veg ( Pumpkin / Broccoli etc) but Salad. Gravy was the winner
